General Race Information
Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on October 1, 2017. Race check-in will begin at 8:00AM, and general race start time is 12:30PM.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held at Nathan Benderson Park, 5851 Nathan Benderson Cirlce, Sarasota, FL, 34235.

*Kayak registration has the option to bring your own kayak, but individual will need to specify type of kayak (racing or recreational)
**Individuals registering as individuals for Rowing and Dragon Boat will be randomly boated following the close of registration

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. $10 food voucher for use at park on day of regatta, Official Row for the Cure Fun Regatta shirt, Participation Medal, and a 2-Day Championship Weekend Pass.
Q. How can I register?
A. You can register online leading up to the race until September 8, 2017.
Q. How old do I have to be to participate?
A. You must be 16 or older to participate.
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. Race packets will be available for pick up the week leading up to race at a time and location TBD at a later date.
Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is 500 meters.
Q. How many races are there?
A. There are two heats of each type of boat races.
Q. Do I need to bring my own Kayak/8-Shell/Dragon Boat?
A. No, we are more than happy to provide all the necessary equipment to athletes.
Q. Can I bring my own Kayak?
A. Yes, during the registration process you can specify if you’d like to use your own kayak. Additionally, you will have to specify what type of kayak (racing or recreational) you will be using during the registration process.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Row for the Cure Fun Regatta depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here or contact us at email@example.com
Q. What if it rains?
A. We hold the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather.
Q. Does the Row for the Cure® require fundraising?
A. We ask that all participants raise a minimum of $100 to donate to our local Florida Suncoast Susan G. Komen.
Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Susan G. Komen Florida Suncoast Affiliate is the local resource for women who need breast cancer screening, diagnostic and support services. Through annual events and individual contributions, Komen Florida Suncoast raises funds that enable women to detect and survive breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of all funds raised by the Affiliate stay in our service area to fund breast health programs for women who would not otherwise have access to screening and treatment. Twenty-five percent of funds raised supports the Susan G. Komen® Grants Program. Komen Florida Suncoast has raised more than $14 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our six-county service area. Our service area includes Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Manatee, and Sarasota counties.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. All donations will be processed online here through paypal. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your donation.
Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations must be made before September 25, 2017 to count towards your fundraising goals. However donations will be accepted through October 1, 2017.
Q. How do I form a team?
A. Teams can be made up of either groups of 8 (8-shells for rowing) or groups of 22 (Dragon boats seat 22). You can form a team or join a team online. To form a team refer to the fee structure by boat.
Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race Day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved. To form a team refer to the fee structure by boat.
