We chatted with Sir David Tanner, British Rowing’s performance director, during his recent visit to Nathan Benderson Park. Below is his biography from BritishRowing.org, followed by our questions and his answers.
Jenny Sichel is a coxswain for the USRowing Paralympic, LTAMix 4+ boat. In 2015, she and her crew received silver at the World Championships. A year later, she took a silver medal back to the United States after a stellar performance at her first summer Olympics in Rio.
Gary and Paul O’Donovan have quickly become one of rowing’s most popular dynamic duos. The brothers from Ireland won a silver medal last summer in Rio, while Paul has also succeeded in a single scull. Now, they have their sights set on winning another medal at the World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida next year.
PHILADELPHIA, PA— At one time or another this past weekend, many of the 8,500 rowers participating in the annual Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, took a time out to visit the event’s vendor village on Kelly Drive.
