On August 20, 2015 officials and community members celebrated the official groundbreaking for the new finish tower at Nathan Benderson Park. The tower will be a five story state-of-the-art building that will house park staff, event officials and media and will feature meeting rooms, community space and 360 views for the entire park.
The Bradenton-Sarasota area has been selected as the site for rowing’s 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
USRowing, the national governing body for the sport of rowing, made the special announcement Friday during a press conference at Nathan Benderson Park where the Olympic trials will be held, as well as the 2017 World Rowing Championships.
FISA announces Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida will be the host for the 2017 World Rowing Championships. The event will be held at Nathan Benderson Park.
