SARASOTA-BRADENTON, FLORIDA— In August, 24-year-old Monica Whitehouse will make her first trip overseas, and she’ll be doing it representing the red, white and blue. The assistant coach with Sarasota Crew has made the USRowing roster for the 2016 World Rowing Senior, Under 23 and Junior Championships in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
SARASOTA-BRADENTON, FL— A rainy Thursday afternoon on the Suncoast did not dampen plans for dozens of rowing, film and literature enthusiasts. Those folks brought beach chairs and blankets to Nathan Benderson Park to view a free, advanced screening of the PBS documentary, The Boys of ’36.
SARASOTA-BRADENTON, FL— Angel Founrier Rodriguez is a hard guy to miss. Standing at about 6 feet 5 inches, the muscular Cuban rower is spending the next three weeks at Nathan Benderson Park, training for what he hopes will be a successful trip to the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
SARASOTA – The 100-day mark until the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was announced just before the World Cup Final in modern pentathlon was held at the Selby Aquatic Center and Nathan Benderson Park this past weekend.
